Libre interprétation de la Divine Comédie comme métaphore de la construction européenne ou l’actualité du génie poétique de Dante dans l’édification de l’Europe.
Triptyque identitaire des pays et des peuples de l’Europe en devenir, à l’image du lieu géométrique commun aux trois religions monothéistes fondé sur le rythme trinitaire de la Divine Comédie, l’œuvre intitulée « La conversion de l’Europe » a reçu la distinction « di Benemerenza », médaille de bronze décernée par la société Dante Alighieri de Rome lors de la XIVème Biennale Internationale de Ravenne sur le thème de Dante l’europeen.
Cette oeuvre a été particulièrement récompensée "pour la richesse des éléments figuratifs, narratifs et symboliques, exprimant avec une grande force architectonique la construction de l’Europe en devenir dans la continuité de l’esprit de Dante"
L’œuvre est construite sur une base commune où prennent naissance trois plans triangulaires, dessinant une pyramide au sommet ouvert. L’ordonnance hélicoïdale des plans amorce une volute ascendante autour d’un centre virtuel. Ce foyer central rassemble l’énergie de tout l’édifice pour la conduire, guidée par le faisceau arêtier des trois plans, vers le sommet en un cône de lumière. Au point focal de cette énergie, rayonnent deux êtres angéliques.
L’œuvre est une métaphore de la construction européenne, de ses racines mêlées où les principales croyances dépassent l’appréhension et l’angoisse de la vie ici-bas et participent à l’élévation d’une conscience collective vers une unité rédemptrice.
Au confluent des principaux courants de pensée (idéologique, politique, religieux), tous les peuples connaissent inquiétude et tourments, alors que, guidés par leur Foi, les plus fervents s’entraident et progressent vers un avenir meilleur. Porteur d’espoir et d’interrogations, ce triptyque reflète la construction vivante de l’Europe dans sa marche douloureuse et salvatrice, où chaque plan exprime sa part d’amour et de souffrance. Dans une convergence dynamique, génératrice de fraternité et d’unité, chaque individu, dépassant ses différences, se transforme et se régénère. Fruit de la sagesse, de la tolérance et de la conciliation, cette unité d’esprit conduit au sommet de l’édifice et se confond en lumière radieuse : élan des cœurs vers un "Souverain Bien"

An identifying triptych of the constantly evolving countries and people of Europe, symbolizing the geometrical image that is synonymous of the three monolithic religions that are part of the Trinitarian rhythm of the Divine Comedy. The masterpiece entitled "The Conversion of Europe" received the distinction "di Benemerenza" bronze medal awarded by the Dante Alighieri company in Roma, during the XIV th twice-yearly international event of Ravenna based on the frame of an European Dante.
This entry was particularly rewarded "for the wealth of representational elements, narratives and symbols, expressing with great architectonic strength the constantly evolving construction of Europe, whilst following the edicts of Dante’s message."
The model is created from a single base from where three triangular surfaces will emerge, to form an open-top pyramid. The helicoidal layout of the surfaces energize into an ascending volute which winds around the virtual centre. This central focus re-unites the energy of the whole structure to lead it towards the summit, by using the ridged beams of the three surfaces where a cone of light from this converged energy shines on two angelic figures.
This work of art is a metaphor of the European construction, with its mixed origins, where the main beliefs overtake the fear of living here or there but join together in the rise of a collective consciousness where all will meet in united salvation. With the majority of thoughts of ideology, politics and religion meeting, all populations experience worry and torment, but the most fervent, guided by their faith, help each other towards a better future. The bearer of hope and question, this triptych reflects the active construction of Europe on its painful and redeeming path, where each surface shows its part of love and suffering. In an explosive meeting, resulting in brotherhood and unity, each person surpasses their differences in order to transform and to regenerate. Formed by wisdom, tolerance and reconciliation, this united spirit leads to the summit of the structure to melt in radiant light : boosting our hearts towards the "Sovereign good".
